Annotated Bibliography
What is it?
An annotated bibliography is a list of all of the sources used for your research that also includes both a summary and an evaluation of each source.
Why?
Your teacher isn't having you do an annotated bibliography to keep you busy or ruin your life. They're used regularly in academic settings at colleges and universities. Depending on your field of study, you will most likely be asked to write many of these over the course of your college career.
An annotated bibliography makes you read your sources with a critical eye, carefully examine the content, and prove that they are credible to anyone who reads your paper. All of this provides for a greater understanding of the topic of your research.

"I'm majoring in ___, I won't need to write papers."
Your major won't be the only subject you'll study. Colleges require you to fill academic requirements with many other classes. You may need to study other "paper-heavy" topics.
