cOLLEGE - Military - Career Research Project

The goal of this project is to research the college/university, military branch, or career of your choice and to create a full outline that includes answers to the questions listed below. After compiling an outline and works cited page, you will present this information to the class.

Questions:


1. Basic historical information:

        a. When/Where/Why was your college/university founded, and who were the founding members?
        b. When/Where/Why was your chosen branch of the military founded? And by whom? For what reason?
        c. When/Where/Why was the company of your chosen career path founded/created? And by whom?


2. Size/Location:
        a. When founded, how big was your college/university? What is its population today? Where is it located? Are  
            there satellite branches?
        b. When founded, how big was the military branch? How big is it today? Where are some of the bases located?
        c. Where is the company you're researching located? Are there other office locations? How big is the company?


3. Major Fields of Study/Special Forces/Opportunities:
        a. At your college or university, what majors are offered? Are there any prominent departments or schools within the 
            college or university? Are they named for anyone?
        b. In your chosen branch of the military, are there specific opportunities you are interested in (such as educational
            opportunities, travel, specialized forces?)
        c. In regards to your chosen place of employment, are there benefits available for part/full time employees such as  
            location, healthcare, monetary incentive, travel, etc.

4. For those attending a College or University ONLY:
        a. The library on campus: Who is it named after?What is the significance of the name? What resources are available
             there? Are there any interesting collections or information?


5. Three important facts/information you feel are relevant or interesting:
         a. College/University: Are there special rankings, fun facts, famous grads, etc.?
         b. Military: Are there special facts, famous officers, etc.?
         c. Career: Are there special facts, famous employees who got there start there, etc.?


Requirements
  • You must use 5 sources for this outline/project: 1 print, 1 database, and 1 Internet source are required. You may choose the remaining two sources.
  • You must create a formal outline that includes specific, thorough, and accurate information.
  • You must create a visual presentation (using online presentation tools, PowerPoint, etc.) to present your findings to the class.
